What a Navigation Round is
A Navigation Round is a time-bound, high-clarity decision session.
It is a focused working session designed to help you:
accurately interpret what the school is responding to
determine whether discipline is being used in place of support
decide your next move before escalation locks in the wrong path
This is about orientation, not endurance.
What we work through together
During this Navigation Round, we look at:
how the school is interpreting your child’s behavior
whether the behavior reflects willful action or capacity limits
where executive function or neurodivergence may be misread
what responses will help and what will make things worse
We identify:
what needs documentation
what does not require a response
whether accommodation, reframing, or boundary-setting is appropriate
You leave knowing what this is, what it isn’t, and what to do next.
What you leave with
By the end of the session, you will know:
whether the school’s framing matches your child’s needs
whether punishment is likely to help or harm
what your next step actually is
whether further advocacy is necessary or avoidable
Most importantly, you will stop carrying the system’s urgency as your own.
